do NSO check/compare config for the device before any new config did from NSO ? and then it decides if the device is in-sync or not?

is there any config in NSO to increase time?

do we need to perform sync-from to all devices after every login attempt to NSO?i

Martin it might work for you. But it's not working for many people including myself.

I've been using CML 2.0 for about 6 month now and never had this issue. After providing login and password I'm able to make a SUCCESSFUL VPN connection but the https://10.10.20.161 just won't open. I've tried different browsers and accounts.

Yesterday it didn't work, but when I've logged in using different account I was able to open https://10.10.20.161.

Today I'm unable to access the web interface from both accounts.

I've been using CML 2.0 for a while now, and never had that problem before.

For the second day in a row, after successful VPN connection using Cisco AnyConnect I am unable to open https://10.10.20.161 to access CML web interface. I didn't change anything in my PC. Can someone tell me what might be the cause?

it works for ME ! I Just opened CML. VPN connection dropped twice at very beginning bit now it is stable.

Hi,

David is correct that there isn't a hard rule. It really does come down to how much bandwidth, the number of agents logged in, and the activity on the system, essentially as David said, the load on the servers.

Do know that the Finesse desktop uses the same Finesse REST APIs and it was load tested under normal agent/supervisor usage.

My understanding is that there are multiple factors to this other than the amount of requests including load on the servers. Ultimately, the APIs will throttle you, but not sure if there's a hard and fast rule. I would love to know if there is.

You're dealing with the limitations of using SQL. That's just the way SQL works.

Perhaps you should, instead, use AXL API updatePhone, which includes this section in the XML:

Then you can use getPhone for that particular phone. If you tell getPhone to return <services>, you'll see the UUID of the telecaster service, which is the same as the PKID.

In theory your right, after the INSERT INTO simply query the tuple.

But as far as I can see, the primary key is PKID.

That means, that there could be possibly many tuples where only the PKID differs.

After the INSERT INTO I could get back more then the just inserted tuple.

We have Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise in our organization. I've been tasked to see if there is any way to pull the incoming call phone number while the caller is waiting in the queue or from the Cisco inbound switch. Once we pull the phone number, we want to send that to another program to see how likely that caller buys our product based on that we want to bump the priority of that call in the queue. This needs to be done in real-time. Is there a possibility within CISCO PCCE to achieve this? Any help on this is appreciated.

I'm not sure why you would expect to get the PKID back from the insert. It's a SQL operation, and that operation doesn't return a PKID value.

If you want to get the PKID, then you should create a SQLQuery to get it. Perhaps something like Select pkid from telecastersubscribedservice where servicename = "MyTestService".

POAP on n9kv on CML2?

But, it doesn't give back the PKID.
In fact I can remove the newid() entirely in the INSERT INTO statement, as according to the Data Dictionary the default value for the PKID will be generated with newid().

Ok, so you want the user to enter x digits. You then want access to said digits, right?

So you use a Form element where you ask for the specific entry, then use {Data.Element.ElementName.value} to retrieve it. Now looking at one of my record file apps. For the name I have the full path as in http://{Data.Session.thishost}:7000/CVP/audio/{Data.Element.Record Name.filename} might this be the problem?

Sure thing! Sorry - I didn't explain this particularly well. High level what I'm trying to do is have a user dial into the VXML app, enter their extension (or an extension), and then take that input and use it as the filename for the record node.

So i tried this two ways. First way was just literally setting the <filename> setting in the "record with confirm" node to be what (I believe) is the value from capturing the extension in the "digits with confirm" node earlier in the app (Picture "CVP Recording Filename").

The second way I attempted this was to create an element data entry in the "digits with confirm" node (Picture "Data Element Create") and then reference that element data in the "record with confirm" node (Picture "Data Element Record".

From what is in the Element specification, shouldn't you be using filename or filepath and not value unless I'm misunderstanding your issue?

Record with Confirm Filename

Okay - this should be super simple but I'm having a brain fart that's lasted for a day. I'm working on an VXML app where I need to grab data entered in a previous digits with confirm node. I've tried both trying to store {Data.Element.Extension With Confirm.value} as a element data ("Data.Element.Extension With Confirm.Filename}") and also trying to directly reference {Data.Element.Extension With Confirm.value} as the filename. Each time when the recording is written it has a literal filename string instead of the data.

What am I doing wrong? It seems like it should be one of the methods above and I can see in the logs where the Record with confirm data value is set correctly?

Any help would be appreciated!

but not getting any email from noreply@meraki.com to add the Devnet Sandbox organization. Before that I was getting those emails, but suddenly it stopped today when I create reserve the new lab in Devnet Sandbox.

Any other way to add the organization without email?

Thanks so much for taking the time to test that, Denise! I guess using <routable> as a RONA indicator is not as much of a bug as I’d thought.

Any chance of submitting a change request to include the Voice RONA behavior (Not Ready/32767) for all MRD’s?
I’ll have to check the docs again - I understood that Not Ready alone would not stop ICM from routing tasks to an MRD.

I tested the RONA situation on the PCCE 12.5 setup that I was using earlier and it seems like when the agent goes RONA for a task, the routable changes to false but remains in READY state.

Hi,

UCCE and PCCE share the a lot of the same code base for the REST APIs, but I guess it isn't available for UCCE. I do not have access to a UCCE system so I cannot check myself, but since you are getting an error, I guess it is not available.

So since that didn't work, I guess it isn't possible on UCCE to programmatically add/delete agents.

Supervisors need to explicitly subscribe to get team information (https://developer.cisco.com/docs/finesse/#!subscription-management) to get the updated team states. Since this is an explicit subscription, you need to unsubscribe when the supervisor logs out.

Just to finish off the conversation - I'm assuming that the actual RONA events will be a Not Routable along with Not Ready / 32767, which is the RONA reason code. The Not Routable event alone wouldn't indicate a RONA on an MRD. Is this a good assumption?

Per described NSO migration.

Depending on which versions of NEDs you have you may or may not need to migrate them to later versions.

If you have fairly new NEDs you can probably build them for 4.5, 4.7 and 5.3. I would recommend that you upgrade the NEDs to latest version while on NSO 4.5/4.7 and then continue with the NSO migration to 5.3.

The NSO migration path is a subject that will be touched in Developer Days (in September this year)

Can you please check xmpNbiFw.log and persistence.log once the exception occurs and share the full stack trace?

For now, it looks like the request to DB returns a null value for some entity's attribute. You might find the problematic entity by changing .maxResult or .firstResult and then check whether null is set for any attributes of this entity in DB.

We have developed customer web desktop using Cisco Finesse rest API’s and everything is working. Now we are developing custom supervisor web desktop using Cisco Finesse REST API's.

We are able to show team stats (all teams associated with supervisor) for logged in supervisor.

Need help to auto refresh team stat API’s or method. Means when any agent state change happen then it should automatically update under supervisor team state too. Is there any event or method we can use to update supervisor team stats.

Standard Cisco Finesse desktop team stats auto update as soon as agent state changes similarly we want do in our custom supervisor web desktop too.

I know it's a bit late but I just ran into this as well and figured I'd post how I found the leafs, containers, etc.

I queried the capabilities off the C9200 I was testing on by using the following

This returned various "URLs" with module names. For example I was looking for CDP

http://cisco.com/ns/yang/Cisco-IOS-XE-cdp-oper?module=Cisco-IOS-XE-cdp-oper&revision=2019-05-01

Knowing the Module name from the "URLs" above I went to https://yangcatalog.org/yang-search and searched for the module name Cisco-IOS-XE-cdp-oper. This will tell you how to append leafs, lists, etc to the URL, you can even click on the "Tree View" link inside the module column to see all the fields returned by the API along with an explanation of what they are.

The CDM migration documentation [0] states that upgrades from
NSO releases 4.x.* to 5.*, where x>= 5, are supported.

The change of internal representation for leaf-lists was also a
big change which needs to be taken into account. [1]
The recommendation is to upgrade to NSO 4.5.* where the
internal representation changed, and then upgrade to 5.* from
there. (Note that manual work might be needed when upgrading
to NSO 4.5.)

There are however many changes and fixes for leaf-lists
after the NSO 4.5 release. See previous discussion for more
information. [2]

Thus, a supported upgrade path would be:

4.2.3 -> 4.[5,6,7].* -> 5.3

However, with support from the reasoning above, I would
recommend the following upgrade path:

4.2.3 -> 4.5.* -> 4.7.* -> 5.3

What is the preferred way of developing a cfs package in multivendor enviroment with regards to port names and numbering?

The solutions are:

- developing some abstract names of ports that are later translated to vendor specific names - adds cruft to the package but makes it independent of NEDs and device specific data. For example "ethernet 1/1" maps to "Ethernet 1/1" or "Ethernet 1" depending on the device.

- using 'case' statement in top level package, like pasted below.

In my case NSO will have a 3rd party GUI application. I want to make the cooperation with GUI developer as simple as possible. I would like to:

- avoid the situation where the GUI has to have some variable scenarios dependent on device type etc.

- minimize the impact of adding a additional device type in future

- have too many interactions between GUI and NSO to find details about the device

I am unable to spin up vManage on CML sandboxes cisco provides and as currently unable to change the hard disk size for the vManage to something possible on the sandbox like 30-40 GB. The hard disk size stays at 512 Gig even after multiple attempts to change it.

Assuming you have a valid contract, you can download the CUCM ISO, and stand up a test box. The default CUCM licensing will allow you 90 days before it locks your configuration. That way you could create your own sandbox.

You could certainly pass the information back to ICM, write it in a global variable for all future calls to use that gets passed into your CVP application. Then, when your information needs to get refreshed again, have that global variable be overwritten in ICM with the new value. Basically, have a check in ICM when the cal comes out of your application on whether that global variable needs to be updated.

I do not believe this is possible on UCCE.

Although the UCCE 12.6 seems also has an extract about roles when creating / deleting on the Agent API - but I think this is a doc bug.

If you want to persist data across sessions you can store it in Application or Global data depending on the scope you need. It's just a Java object that is stored so very flexible although you will have to use the API and a custom element to store and retrieve. For convenience, there's some custom elements here for handling common data -- you can use as is or as an example for building your own.

Ability of Finesse Admin account - to update User / Dialogs

The Finesse API only allow the user or the supervisor update the user, such as change agent state.

Only the user can also change or update its own dialogs.

This makes the ability of making very useful apps difficult - as you need to be aware of the agents password.

Can we please get the Admin account or a special admin account that really has full admin access - to be able to access or change anything?

Example App - force an agent to Ready - this is useful for a AgentCallBack app - which allows escalation from chat to voice.

Customer enters a unique 6 digit ID (which the agent created via a Finesse Gadget and provided to the customer) - the customer then calls in and the call queues at that Agent at Priority 1 - CVP then changes the voice state of the agent to Ready so it gets the call (and no other calls that might be in the queue).

I have this all working - but it relies on using the agents username in the Finesse API - instead of the Admin - meaning we are reliant on knowing the agents password - which is not ideal.

If I understand you correctly, then yes. In an authgroup you can set a private ssh key: devices authgroups group default default-map public-key private-key

In /etc/ssh/sshd_config you can set login to allow PasswordAuthentication and/or PubkeyAuthentication.

We have a NED for Netrounds, but I believe it is set to accept PubkeyAuthentication only, and not PasswordAuthentication.

Can NSO support this?

In you previous post you are missing 'mac' parameter as it is a key for the table entry and must be specified in the request. It should be something like this:

Thanks for the response bigevilbeard; I thought I was following the correct process (same as I thought I used last week); reserve the sandbox, once I get the email response I see the (Open NX-OS with Nexus 9Kv) sandbox is ready (accepting) so I fire up AC with the specified url . When I started having problems I uninstalled Open Connect and switched to AnyConnect. the later doesn't support the ability to provide authenitication infomation in a profile; so all I was doing was entering the url and the connect button (which times out)

Cockpit error? I have no problems accessing the sandbox or other internet sites.

Hello the IP address 173.38.221.89 is Cisco DNS IP, it does not reply to ping/ICMP (on or off the Any Connect VPN) - this will be designed for security posture. Can you add more details on your issue here? You can connect the AnyConnect VPN ok, with your provided username/password (reservation details) that part is ok?

Help requested; while I could connect last week all this week I'm getting timeout failures. While I can reach the sandbox, and I can get the DNS entry for 173.38.221.89 but can't ping it and AC times out. Rebooted, removed and re-installed AC but no joy. Same result with a separate laptop (both running windows). Suggestions appreciated.

Refresh REST token for authentication

Hey everyone. I am developing a CVP 11.6 application that needs to authenticate a REST API. The token is only valid for a short time before needing to be regenerated. While I am able to check for a 401 and POST credentials to generate a new token I am wondering if there is a way to have the app store that new token for subsequent calls. If not, would it be possible to store the new value back in ICM and have new calls use the value from there (unlikely, I assume) or would it need to be stored elsewhere (database?) and then pulled in? Any guidance would be appreciated.
