A very useful Sandbox for all developers working with Webex Cloud collaboration, is to have a sandbox with the resources required for cloud collaboration.

A simple topology that can be booked within 15 minutes but completely reliable as to practice API in a complete topology and also troubleshoot various issues.

This is a sandbox that has been missing and as cloud collaboration is gaining its recognition, this could be useful to all.

We will need (CUCM, IMP, CUC, EXPC-E, AD, 3 PCs) This would need access to Control Hub for service creation.

An automation script to create a few users upon booking this lab, or a script to get the users after the lab is created.

This would need access to Internet for testing but not to PSTN services.

Cisco DNA Center Lab 2

I managed to book the DNA Lab 2, but i've issue authenticating with the DNA:

i've tried with Admin\Cisco1234! and admin\Cisco1234! without any success, those were the crendtial provided on the lab preview and the lab topology, any idea? keep telling me " Unable to log in at this moment. Please try again at a later time. ", but i'm already 1h into the lab i highly doubt that the lab didn't start fully yet!

I also wanted to follow up on your question about the link and Learning Lab title. As we continue to improve and update the Learning Labs, we will revise and redirect from some Learning Labs when there is overlapping content and we want to consolidate, or when there's outdated content that we want to update and point to newer versions of a Learning Lab and deprecate the old. So you'll see this happen with Learning Labs where we intentionally revise and update the Lab and the module or order of Labs in the module.

Not sure if this would help, but you can download the .yaml file and upload this when you reserve a new sandbox. When doing workshops or build CML examples, i often provide this in the repo along with any code.

DevNet Beginner Learning Lab Track Errata

We have discovered at least two issues so far with the DevNet Beginner learning track at: https://developer.cisco.com/learning/tracks/devnet-beginner

In the Network Programmability module the lab titled "Cisco DNA Center APIs with Python: Part 1 - The Basics" doesn't actually exist. This link really takes you to a lab titled "Cisco DNA Center API Overview". I'm not sure which is supposed to be the correct lab but either the link is titled incorrectly or is pointing to the wrong lab.
On page 2 of the "Cisco DNA Center Platform - Authentication" lab (and continuing on through the next several labs you are asked to do some work in Python requests making calls on DNAC with thinks like
```
requests.post(url, auth=HTTPBasicAuth(DNAC_USER, DNAC_PASSWORD))
```
however, these will all fail because the SSL certificate on the DNAC server is self-signed. All of these calls need to be changed to something more like
```
requests.post(url, auth=HTTPBasicAuth(DNAC_USER, DNAC_PASSWORD), verify=False)
```
which will ignore certificate errors. Ideally the need for this would also be explained to the learner so they understand that ignoring certificate errors in production is a bad idea.

DNAC HW Lab's ISE is not reachable

I was able to wait for the DNA Center Lab 1. It sims the ISE server listed in the lab is not reachable. ISE is fundamental part of the DNA architecture so it would be good if you guys can take a look on that. Thanks.

Virl sandbox dns server configuration

I see that when I connect to vpn to access viral sandbox , I get dns server as 10.10.20.100 but that server is not able to access internet on laptop. I know due to change in internet policy you are not allowing any lab device to not access internet but this should not apply to my laptop as I will be referring internet documents when building VIRL network in lab.

May be when I connect internet , you should give me public dns and have your internal dns for lab devices?

FYI ..

I did manually change my adapter settings to point dns to 8.8.8.8 but still internet was not working. I can resolve google.com with nslookup google.com 8.8.8.8 but I cant do ping -a google.com.I am fine when I disconnect vpn. May be you have to review dns server configured for vpn clients ?

After the maintenance window last weekend the DNA Center Hardware Lab 1 is no longer available.

In some of the old documentation I can see there once was 3 Hardware labs.

It would be great if you guys created a DNA Center Lab with some hardware again.

Hi, I have the same problem (you are not alone). I try multiple times to login per VPN in different Sandboxes. VPN problem

This is my first time connecting to the lab with CiscoAnyConnect. I was fine to establish the VPN in first time and then connected to the devices. However, due to my laptop was hang, I did the hard reboot. After the reboot, I failed to connect to VPN. The error messages were as attached.

I managed to connect back to the lab by end the lab and then did a new reserve. It seems the problem was due to my previous VPN connection was still active and the vpn system did not allow me to establish another new connection. May I have solution on this instead of re-do the reservation for same lab? Thanks.

Bulding a SD-Access fabric

my understanding is that eiot is not so much about 'making usb devices ip-manageable' but its mostly about SENSORS and the huge stream of realtime data that they produce. given that they generate continuous streams of data - and only some of that data will be 'urgently relevant', the notion of data reduction before the data enters the wan routing domain - is key.

not sure how useful it would be to have something just look at a drop-box account and then trigger print jobs. how would this be secured or locked down? could it be abused? any time a 'write' operation is allowed, I always ask lots of security and permission questions, since those are the things I would worry the most about.

I have something that may work for this. rob liston wrote a python webserver that provides an ip-based interface to the Phidget sensors (including the '222' usb dongle that has 2 digital outs, which could be used to turn a led on/off).

this webserver has the ability to support GETs (for getting sensor values) but also a PUT feature so that you can write a 1 or 0 to the led.

contact me for info and I can get you the code and some basic setup info.

I'm trying to lay out any and all automation (remote) possibilities for our networking team.

The basic scenario is an onboarding setup

- Creating a context on the outer (5585)

- Creating two NATs (from 5585 to the VLAN on the 7000)

- Creating same NATs on the 7000

- Punch a number of ingress and egress rules into the same 2 devices for that context

This can all be done manually now by logging in and running CLI.

What are my options for automation for these devices, the amount of acronym **** among the various cisco APIs and solutions is overwhelming. I've read about some but ideally I'd like to use the same approach for both devices.

- Remotely executing python scripts

- NETCONF (looks like CLI commands as XML)

- SNMP (least common denominator?)

I've also read about management layers that sit about devices and provide a common API for management like APIC which exposes a REST API but I can't find any kind of matrix that shows that it can speak to these two devices.

Router Configs into DevHub

Could we set it up so that Enterprises / Partners could upload their router configs into our system, and they could validate those configs, get sign off, etc, before pushing them live (or at least to a staging env’t). The network gear could get more tightly integrated with this by checking with the repo, and apply updates as appropriate. To a certain extent, this is what Puppet does, but not sure about the version control of configs and whatnot.

EIoT IFTTT Interface

The EIoT allows the control of USB devices via the Internet. Thus, you can take any USB device and using a special version of PyUSB (Cisco PyUSB) and a Cisco Doublemint kit you can initialize, read, and write to the USB device.

IFTTT (If This Then That) is an Internet service that allows applications to communicate between them based upon triggers.

EIoT should be integrated into IFTTT to allow it to participate as a citizen in IFTTT. For example, let's image a USB printer being connected to the Internet using Cisco PyUSB. If EIoT was a citizen of IFTTT, then you could write a IFTTT recipe that whenever you place a document in a particular folder in dropbox, then that document is printed on the EIoT connected printer. Or whenever you categorize a document within Evernote with the "Network Print" category, it is printed to the EIoT connected printer.

Notice that this approach would allow the printing to documents on non-split tunneling VPNs.
