As indicated in the Bug ID, it seems to be fixed in Jabber 12.7.1.51081

However, nothing about 12.8.x

Can somebody confirm/infirm it ?

The fix is included in 12.7.1 and 12.8.
12.8 inherits all the resolved defects of 12.7.1.
