Cisco SPA504G & Spa303 can't dial # as first digit

We have a situation where speed dials in the system start with a # i.e. #400 but as soon as you dial # you get "Invalid Number". Can anyone help with which setting I need to disable to allow the # to be dialed.

Is the number in question allowed by "Dial Plan" you configured in phone's configuration ?

Note that there's no a generic Dial Plan that fits all requirements. You need to create your own dial plan according the format of numbers used in your particular phone network.
