I am configuring a Call Manager. I am trying to add a route group. When I look to add the device to the route group the device (a 2821 gateway) I added is not showing up. Anyone know why?

Hello, if you are configuring a mgcp gateway you must configure the voice cards and then add the voice cards to the route group

If you already have any route patterns pointing to the gateway or trunk directly, then you wont be able to add that gateway into a route group. So i would recommend to do the following.

a. create a temporary h323 gateway (we will delete this later),

b. re-point all your route patterns to this temporary gateway (so that you dont have to delete all route patterns and recreate them) and

c. Create the route group. Now you should be able to see the gateway in the list.

d. After this route group and route list are created, go back to route patterns, repoint all route patterns back to the new route list e. Delete the temporary h323 gateway that you created in step a.

HTH

Sankar

PS: please remember to rate posts!

HTH
