I need assistance on how to properly stack these 2 switches together. Both switches were reset to factory settings and upgraded the firmware to the latest version available.

I have tried but have failed to get them to work as 1. Here's what I have done;

Unit 1

IP Static: 192.168.2.91

Stack Master: Set as Unit1

Stack Mode: Native Stacking

Stack connection speed: 10G

XG15 and XG16 were selected as the stacking ports

Unit 2

IP Static: 192.168.2.92

Stack Master: Set as Unit 2

Stack Mode: Native Stacking

XG15 and XG16 were selected as the stacking ports

Unit 2 Stack Connection Speed: 10G

Did I miss a setting? It looks pretty straightforward but yet I can't get this to work.

Help.

These settings seem to be fine but when I connect the cable in the ports to make the units stackable, unit 2 restarts and all the lights in the front turn on and stay in that state. Please see the screenshot attached.

Hello,

hard to say what you are missing. Which ports and which cable are you using to form the stack ?

Maybe looking at the short video below helps:

Hello

The switchs do not require separate ip addresses so to make sure the switches are set t default and have no stacking enabled, So disconnect the stack cabling and log on to each switch individually

sw1 -s2
conf t

no stack config
exit

wr mem

reload

once switches have reloaded
sw1
config t
stack unit 1
stack config link x/x-x unit-id 1
end
wr me
reload

sw2
config t
stack unit 1
stack config link x/x-x unit-id 2
end
wr me
power off

Connect stack cables between sw-2
power up sw2

once both switches are up, console onto sw1
show stack config
