which one to choose Python or tcl for network programming ?

hi guys,

I am a networker decided to start learning network programming after i hear that SDN will rule the network world in the future.

here are my skills

I have network knowledge (i.e my specialized area is routing and switching).

finished RHCE certification(just to get some fundamental knowledge on linux,did it before 18 months) ,but didn't worked in a Linux based environment.

Now when Tought about learning a scripting language i was confused with choosing tcl or python ?

which one is better ? if yes please mention why ?

Also i don't want to be vendor specific, what is the road-map i should follow from now ?

some advice would be helpful......

Hi Manoj,

What I would suggest if you are liking to learn SDN then learn Python. Python is the simplest to learn of the languages that matter most to SDN, and is becoming the language-of-choice .
