Hi Ron,

ESC does not do that. The Resource Orchestrator (RO) which is part of the Cisco NFVO has that functionality.

Could someone point me to any documentation or explanation of how ESC manages capacity on attached VIMs? If ESC has two available VIMs for a given deployment and one is getting low on capacity, how does ESC know that and how does it manage incoming requests vs. resource availability? Thanks

I've been trying to find information on NFVO and the RO features you mention. I can't find anything out there and there is no mention of the Resource Orchestrator in the NFVO product description white paper https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/collateral/service-provider/solutions-cloud-providers/white-paper-c11-738702.html

I also looked in the NFVO manual that comes with the function pack, mine is version 1.2.1 (so maybe it's out of date) but there is no mention there of any RO features

After doing many google searches and searches on the Cisco website, I finally found this https://community.cisco.com/t5/nso-developer-hub-documents/nfv0-nso-developer-connect-nyc-2018/ta-p/3752787?attachment-id=163521&dtid=osscdc000283

It is a prezo with no explanations, but it does mention the RO and the graphics allude to the fact that RO does what I'm hoping it does.

Could you please point me to some more detailed information, webex recordings or docs? Thanks

Hey Ron,

yea, 1.2.1 is pretty old 🙂 RO was not part of NFVO at that time, latest version is 3.5.1 and can be found at software.cisco.com.
