topic Swisscom can't get ATA 192 telephone adapter to work. in Voice over IP

I have an ATA 192 analog telephone adapter, connected via a Swisscom Internet Box. Although the ATA connects to the Internet fine, and recognises when the telephone is off-hook, I can't get a dialtone. Swisscom tech Alexander Faury has spent a considerable time trying to get it to work without success, but they don't understand the reason. Swisscom doesn't have experience with the ATA 192 and indeed they say that no-one else in Switzerland is using one!

The ATA 192 is brand new and since everything looks OK when I or Swisscom log into it, we have no reason to believe that it is defective. If anyone has a clue about what Swisscom might not be doing correctly, could they please post here or inform Mr Faury directly at 0800 822 830. (Direct connection).

Thank you!
