Hello

We've just upgraded 2 waas edge appliances from 4.0.15 to 4.0.19.

We are upgrading the edge appliances first so the central manager is still on 4.0.15 at this time.

Upon reloading the edges with the new version, several minor alarms have appeared.

The setup we have does not use the inline cards at all (even though the cards are installed), and I suppose the waas is just alerting us to this fact (we are using a 1-armed setup using the gig1/0 port and wccp redirection).

I've acknowledged the alarms in the central manager but they still remain.

How do I clear these alarms so that in the device view in the central manager everything looks 'green' again?

See below:

====

#sh alarms minor de

Minor Alarms:

-------------

     Alarm ID             Module/Submodule     Instance

     -------------------- -------------------- --------------------

   1 eth_bypass           sysmon/eth2          InlinePort 1/1/wan

     Jul  2 07:17:16.582 WST, Equipment Alarm, #000001, 1000:445007

     The interface InlinePort 1/1/wan is in bypass mode.

   2 eth_bypass           sysmon/eth3          InlinePort 1/1/lan

     Jul  2 07:17:16.582 WST, Equipment Alarm, #000002, 1000:445007

     The interface InlinePort 1/1/lan is in bypass mode.

   3 eth_bypass           sysmon/eth4          InlinePort 1/0/wan

     Jul  2 07:17:16.583 WST, Equipment Alarm, #000003, 1000:445007

     The interface InlinePort 1/0/wan is in bypass mode.

   4 eth_bypass           sysmon/eth5          InlinePort 1/0/lan

     Jul  2 07:17:16.584 WST, Equipment Alarm, #000004, 1000:445007

     The interface InlinePort 1/0/lan is in bypass mode.

NOTE: The Node Health Manager was restarted and Alarm information

      may be inconsistent; however all other Device functionality

      should be unaffected.

      This device should be reloaded at the earliest convenience.

====

Note that even after a 2nd reload of the edge devices (after the 4.0.19 upgrade is complete) the message about "This device should be reloaded at the earliest convenience" still remains.

Appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks

Cameron

Cameron,

Unfortunately, you are hitting 2 logged bugs. CSCso47539 on the Node Health Manager - reload needed issue and CSCsq87537 on "Can not disable alarm while the InLine card interface is in bypass mode". Both should be addressed in a future release of WAAS.

If you are not using the inline cards, you can remove them get rid of that alarm.

Dan
