Hi ACE experts,

does anybody know command how-to check system status of ACE 4710 appliace? For example if fan is OK or CPU temperature, or other HW things what could be faulty?

For example now I have system ID button blinking amber bot do not know what is wrong. I just know that there is some faulty.

I just used show tech-support command and it does not seems that it include some HW statistics.

Thanks for help.

Jan

You can refere the document below and there is no command verify the hardware status.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/ace_appliances/4710/hardware/installation/guide/Overview.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/ace_appliances/4710/hardware/installation/guide/Trouble.html

Regards,

Siva

Hi Siva,

thanks for reply. I already checked documents you provided me. Fun is that in documentation is just one sentence about behavior of system ID button (i mean about amber color). Another fun is that ACE is still running and seems to that works well.

So what do you recommend? Should I create TAC for HW replacement?

It is very interesting that Cisco do not provide any technical information about ACE server. Why there is not any HW management or something basic for example like 3750 web gui mgmt? There is temperature, fan OK or NOT etc.

Will I receive system message about this failure in syslog?

Best regards,

Jan

Hi Jan,

Yes i recommend opeining a TAC case so its taken care of.

There wont be any messages generated if there is any hw failure. Normally the system halts and doesnt boot up when there is a amber indication and this is one corner case where I see its working.

Regards,
Siva
