topic RAID setting on WAVE-574 in Application Networking

This was something that always bothered me with Cisco and the WAVE-574. It should have just shipped with redundant drives to begin with. Adding the extra hard drive is rediculous. The price from Cisco is 4x's more than if you bought it from HP who is the OEM of that device.

To this date, even with the latest IOS 4.3.3a we still see this message.

RAID setting on WAVE-574

The default "package" on buying a WAVE-574 is with one 500G HDD only. While the disk drive setting is in RAID-1 by default, should an extra HDD be added to the WAVE-574 to fulfill the RAID-1 requirement, or should I need to get rid of RAID-1 if there's only one HDD?

Hi Joe,

You can not remove Raid-1 configuration on WAVE-574 as that is the default configuration of WAAS software. WAAS would work with out any issues with these settings, however its a good idea to add the second disk for redundency. Thanks.

Ahsan
