CM Database importing

Hi All,

I have CMS database for WAE574 , I want to import that Database to WAE 474, can i do it.

If yes can someone help

Yes you can do it as long as the 474 is not your Standby CM.

Hi Smita,

I tried it as per the document and got the beolw error

"secure-store is initialized, cannot restore"

Try this

Open, clear secure store from CM and then try to restore the backup from CLI

so the command is

cms secure-store open

cms secure-store clear

and try to restore the cms database

Still nolick, getting the same error. I have even tried , restoring the 474 box to factory default

Really Strange that you are still seeing the secure store error message.

The only other thing that I can think of is try resetting the cms secure store on the CM as per the below documentation link

I think i am doing something wrong while building the Central Manager. Can you please point out a link where i can build a new Central manager with old database.

Hi Dhanasekaran,

I think all you need to do is follow the below documentation

and once you import the cms db then just open cms secure-store.

cms secure-store open and then put in the pass phrase used.

Just in case you forgot the pass phrase thats when you need the reset.

By the way the cms db that you are trying to import was running which WAAS code?

Hi Dhana,

When secure store is initialized and open on CM, first clear secure store and then restore database backup. If database backup was taken when secure store initialized and open, then during database restore user has to provide passphrase.

Could you please try clearing the secure store on CM and then take back-up and then import the CM database.
