Good morning all,

We have a WAE environment in several foreign countries.

In one of our companies i installed a WAE for testing the benefit of it there.

The responsible IT manager is satisfied of this solution and so he bought a WAE device.

Now i need to replace the "testing environment" with the new bought WAE.

Is there any replacement guide available, how to replace the WAE, especially if there are any deregistration/registration processes on the CM.

Please notice: i want to use the settings of the old WAE on the new one. (hostname / IP Address)

thanks

editted: Mike added a more graceful way below

Dieter,

I don't believe a guide has ever been introduced to do this.

CM consideration - Degerister (cms dere force) the old WAE, intoduce new one (check if the old one is still in CM DB before, if it is scratch it manually).

Treat introducing new one as though the old one was never insterted.

WCCP considerations. There's no way the two can work together at the same time with same IP addresses - disable WCCP. Add it back in when you connect new WAE, replacing the old (clear arp cache on router/switche doing WCCP).

It's almost 1AM here so I might not be making too much sense 🙂

Marcin
