I have Two CSM(slot#4, slot#7) in two chassises each.

If i put 'show mod csm 7 stats' on standby chassis for CSM, it does't seems to be sync in session.

The reason for that, I think, is physical port assigned for ft group vlan.

Cisco recommanded that it is good to have seperate trunk port for ft group vlan in CSM.

But i think session info passes through the seperate ft group port.

If I assign a physical port for ft group vlan 1001, the session sync happen?

The config is the following.

        Active

ft group 10 vlan 1000

    priority 150

    failover 5

ft group 20 vlan 1001

  priority 150

  failover 5

      Backup

ft group 10 vlan 1000

    priority 50

    failover 5

ft group 20 vlan 1001

  priority 50

  failover 5

show vlan

              Active/ Backup

    1000 ft_vlan active Gi3/14

    1001 CSM7_FT active (not assigned)

But ft vlan 1001 goes through trunk port between two chassises.

could you please clarify what you mean by session in synch ? What counter are you looking at exactly and what do you expect to see ?

Also, did you try to configure 2 FT groups on the same CSM ?

This is not possible.

You can have only 1 FT group.

Use the command 'sho mod csm X vlan' to see which vlan is the ft vlan.

Regards,

Gilles.

Hi,

Regarding the ft group 10. Is this FT-group working proerply between the corresponding CSMs?

What sort of information are you replicating (connections, stickiness?).

In case of connections, is no connection replicated or only some. If some is the case please verify that the other session are lasting for more than some seconds (>2) because if they are shorter they won't get replicated. I got this information from a TAC-Engineer as I had the problem that not all session got replicated. Please verify the session replication with a HTTP1.1 (keepalive on so that it lasts for some time) or a ftp flow a in case of a layer3 rule just with a telnet connect to your sever.

The next question: Why do you need 2 ft groups for one CSM-pair? In my opinion one CSM only supports one ft group.

In regards of vlans and the needed capacity. I run several CSMs where the ft-vlan is part of a trunk between the two Cat6ks. I have a total bandwidth of 2 GIG as there are some vlans on this trunk but it still works if I use only 1GIG (recommend in the following link http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_installation_and_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00801c58a8.html)

Kind Regards,

Joerg

HI,

seems as if my last posting got lost. So here we go again: First of all everything seems fine as we see replicated connections. If you want to check if replication works just setup a connection to a vserver (where replication is configured) and verify that the flow is replicated with sho mod csm 7 conns vsersver xyz. Second make sure that the flow lasts for longer than 3 seconds.

I think you will see the replicated flow. this will proove that everything is okay. If you miss a flow in the replication make sure it hits the correct vserver with replication and that the flow lasts for more than 3 seconds.

Kind Regards,

JOerg
