ios slb does not require the configuration of a loopback address.

This is only needed if you don't want to nat the vip into the server ip - most of the time because you want to do direct server return.

The CSS does not support direct server return.

If you were doing direct server return, be aware of this difference when doing your migration.

Since the CSS does not do DSR, you should do vip-2-real nating [the default] and therefore there is no need of a loopback address on the servers.

Regards,

Gilles.

what exactly are you looking for ?

DSR not supported on CSS ?

or no loopback required if DSR not being used ?

I don't think you will find documentation talking expressly about this.

However, these questions came frequently on this forum and searching the forum should give you the same answer I gave you.

Finally, if you were using ios slb and need to migrate to hardware loadbalancer, the easiest solution is to go for a CSM.

You can then reuse your ios slb config.

Regards,

Gilles.
