Cisco Prime/Smartnet

If you import all your switches into Cisco prime can it report if the device is on smartnet or not? If it is on smartnet when it will expire etc?

If not prime what Cisco software can do this?

This is known as End-of-Life and End-of-Sale report, aka EOX reports, which is present in CPI version 2.0 onwards. You can launch device reports from Report > Report Launch Pad.

This should be available under Device Reports.

Following details can be generated :

EOX Hardware Detailed	This report displays the End of Life/Support announcement dates for devices in the network.	No	No	Tabular	No

EOX Summary Report	This report displays a summary of the hardware, software, and module types that have End of Life/Support announcement dates and the number of such devices in the network.	No	Yes	Tabular	No

You must enable the compliance service, restart the server, and synchronize inventory to view and generate the EOX reports. For more information about enabling the compliance service, see the Configuring Server Settings section in the Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 Administrator Guide.

Also as another tool, you can use Cisco Active Advisor. Cisco Active Advisor is a cloud-based service that provides essential lifecycle information about your network inventory. Available by itself, or as a component of other Cisco network management applications, it helps you reduce your network's overall risk by keeping you up-to-date on the status of your products.

Cisco Active Advisor shows the following information:

Warranty and service contract status
Product advisories, including Product Security Incident Response Teams (PSIRTs) and field notices
End-of-life notifications for hardware and software

The EoX reports will only

The EoX reports will only show whether there is an EoS/EoL announcement on the devices (including the last avaialble dates to be eligible for Smartnet support). They will not show contract status for your devices (as of the current PI 2.1). Contract status is available from CAA (as Vinod noted) and also with Prime LMS.

To enable EoX reports in PI you need to first enable it in the GUI then restart the server and wait for a resynchronization of your devices (either scheduled or on-demand). Following that, you will have the ability to choose the reports in the Report Launcher and they will be populated with your device data.
