Ok, thank you Manish.

Hello, collaboration professionals!

Please, answer to my question. Where is 3PCC firmware for 7800 and 8800 series phones. Can I change firmware for existing 7800/8800 phones with CUCM firmware to 3PCC , and if I can, how to do it?

Thank you.

Hi Manish, thank you for reply.

I had read this manual yet .

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7800-series/3pcc/english/release-notes/PA2D_BK_7C8E9902_00_7800-series-3pcc-rn-1031.html

I do not find conversion procedure from CUCM to 3PCC in it. I find firmware upgrade procedure (3PCC to 3PCC) and conversion procedure from 3PCC to CUCM. Also I find that caution:

**After you upgrade to the enterprise firmware, you cannot revert to the third-party call control firmware. **

Does it means, what I can't convert firmware from CUCM to 3PCC?

OK, so based upon the release

OK, so based upon the release notes, you have to perform this step to upgrade from one 3PCC version of firmware to another:

Step 4

Configure the Upgrade Rule on the Provisioning tab in the web page with the valid URL. The format is:

http://<phone_ip>/admin/upgrade?<schema>://<serv_ip[:port]>/filepath

The third-party call control can also upgrade via a URL in the web browser:

http://<phone_ip>/admin/upgrade?<schema>://<serv_ip[:port]>/filepath

Note

The loads file is put in the file path of the above url. The zip file contains other file types also. Only loads file is used in the above URL.

After the firmware upgrade completes, the phone reboots automatically.

OK, so I get the <phone_ip> and the <serv_ip[:port]> and /filepath, but what information goes into the <schema> field? Here is what I've been getting with recent attempts:

Firmware Upgrade Status

OK, nevermind, it just dawned on me that the <schema> is either TFTP, HTTP, or HTTPS.

Even after correcting that I still get failure due to unknown error. . . . .

Hi Manish,

I have 8000 series IP Phone, when i checked with Cisco support, they say, the enterprise firmware can't be downgraded to 3PCC which we would like to connect to Asterisk, the vendor also not support enough to replace this, Can't we flash on our own to have 3PCC in place....! can you advise us on this.

Thanks.

Hi,

Hi,

I came across this post and have a requirement to upgrade some 7811 Phones from 3PCC to enterprise firmware.

I have set the url on the Provisioning tab to tftp://Server IP/cmterm-78xx.11-5-1SR1-1-K3-cop.sgn

The phone begins an upgrade but always fails on the TFTP server after downloading approx. 60MB of the 66MB file.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

Ian
