I called support and they recommended I come here for help. My CEO purchased 4 cisco 8851's for our medical practice. However, our phone service is telling me they cannot connect our IP addresses due to activation codes needed for the phones. I have looked at the boards and understand that licenses may need to be purchased in order for the phones to have an activation code, but will they work with our 3rd party phone service or should I return the phones? Thank you for your time.

Yes, it did not help. I watched some videos that states there are different
types of phones and the ones I have may need to pay for a cisco
subscription to have a code...but is this accurate?

There are two options:

1. Buy the conversion license, L-CP-E2M-88XX-CNV, and convert the phones into 3PCC/MPP firmware.

2. Integrate the phone, with Enterprise firmware, into 3rd party call server using known working SEPmacaddress.xml.cnf file.
