    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would like to build a ATM switch from MGX8800. I am not at all familiar with the MGX product and ATM environments. My customer requirement is that there should be at least 24 physical ATM ports (STM-1 or STM-4) per switch, we need two.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If any one can help me with which modules to choose to build this configuration in Cisco Config tool it will be a great help.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanx alot in advance.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Azim.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would like to build a ATM switch from MGX8800. I am not at all familiar with the MGX product and ATM environments. For features regarding this module, please check link below:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A class="jive-link-custom" href="http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps3909/products_data_sheet09186a00800887a9.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps3909/products_data_sheet09186a00800887a9.html&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here are some of the product codes:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;AXSM-8-155-E - 8 OC3/STM1 Ports per module and can have up to 2 half height 4 port back cards.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;AXSM-2-622-E - 4 OC12/STM4 Ports per module but supports only 1 port per back card. I do not have a 8850, but we are planning to purchase one and deploy. If you could kindly let me know, what modules I would need for the 8850 chassis and the processing engine to work.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Azim,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To setup an MGX8850 that would serve your purpose, you can use a PXM45 as your controller card. The AXSM modules that I have stated earlier would serve as your line cards that would deliver the sppeds/bandwidth the you would require. back cards are usually your interface cards. Front and back cards complements each other on an MGX box, where traffic passes through the backplane of the MGX box. The controller card on the other hand defines the switching capability of your switch. PXM45 can deliver up to 45Gbps of backplane switching speed. Back by the way are always half height since it occupies either the upper bay or the lower bay of the MGX. Don't be confused since other references say that they are single height and double height. Three (3) courses that I would highly recommend are: &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1. Installing Cisco WAN Switches &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2. MGX ATM Edge Switch Configuration&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3. MGX PNNI Switch Services Configuration&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;talk with one of the training partners to customize your training needs.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
