Hi,

Do I need to configure anything on the replacement switch if it is the same model and running same IOS version?

I ran "show switch" on it and it stats that it is Switch 5 so not sure how it got this right as the faulty Switch was indeed member 5.

So now I just need to confirm if anything needs to be configured on this Switch or if I can just go ahead and power it off and connect the StackWise Connectors.

What should I monitor after powering back on, any useful commands?

Thanks

Hi BB,

Replacement Switch already shows the following out of the box when show switch command is entered:

*5 Active xxxx.xxxx.xxxxx 11 Vxx Ready

This matches the faulty switch in terms of Member Number and Priority. Current Master and Slave have higher priority.

So in this case I can simply power it OFF, connect StackWise Cables and power back ON

In case there was a mismatch with the Member Number and/or Priority I would need to specify them to match old faulty Switch and copy run start to save.

Hope the above makes sense and thank you for the additional commands

This is a standalone switch you want to join to exiting stack is this correct? priority 11 set by you?

Can you post Live stack?

show switch - will give once this is provisioning.

show switch stack-ports

show switch stack-ring speed

see the priority list (we do not want to assume something there) if the other master has higher priority before connecting this one.
