AP AIR-AP 3802 not working on switch 2960 model

hi All,

does any one have a workaround to get an AIR-AP 3802 working with Cat 2960S switch ?

it complain that not POE even though we setup with external power injector and it won't connect to the WLC

even though we can see under CDP neighour.

Any help is much appreciated.

Console into the AP and reboot.

Post the entire boot-up process.

I could not connect to the WLC to obtain IP - hence just looping around.

That is odd. The time and date of the AP is wrong.

Please factory-reset the AP and try again.

If the AP is still not joining the controller, please post the complete output to the command "sh version".

Even though the AP is not joining the controller but it registered on the switch with the wrong IP add

Using IP tracking and wireshark to discover an old AP in the network acting as DHCP server/WLC and giving out wrong IP.

Remove that old device and all working now ie the time and date of the AP is wrong because it could not connect to the correct WLC.

still not sure why it only happened on Cisco 2960, the APs working perfectly when connected to 9300 or 3850 switches.
