Hi,

We have an MX84 appliance, which has SFP ports.

Is it possible to create a downlink to a device that has SFP+ ports?

As I understand it, SFP modules work in SFP+ ports, so would we use SFP modules on both ends, or would the SFP+ device need an SFP+ module?

My assumption is the transceivers need to be the same so I'd run 1Gb SFP modules in both ends?

Cheers

Eds

To be upfront, I have not tried this.

But based on how the devices work and how the hardware usually works in regards to SFP adapters, you have to match the SFP/SFP+ to the port it is installed in. That said, you should be able to cable the fiber between the two and run at 1GB speeds, the lowest common denominator.
