CMS is an on premise offering and can handle connections coming into it on premise. Scale depends on your design.
Webex is a cloud offering as you say and it will handle connections in the cloud and scale depending on the centre e.g. Event Centre can handle up to 3000 users see https://help.webex.com/en-us/WBX26731/What-is-the-Maximum-Number-of-Participants-in-a-Webex-Session-or-Call
CMS and Webex are conferencing platforms in their own right, offering similar capabilities, however really depends on size, scale, features, where people are joining from, how you want to present to the audience etc.. The two wont integrate to each other.
If you want to save media bandwidth when connecting to Webex, you could take a look at Webex Video Mesh https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cloudCollaboration/wbxt/videomesh/cmgt_b_webex-video-mesh-deployment-guide.html but that is something that is very different.
Thanks
ashish

Good day all,

Apologies, if this is not the correct place to post this question. One of our clients have CMS 2.8 in their enterprise. They are planning a refresh to this, to provide more capacity for cms call connections, broadcasting of events which led them to look upon webex.

with their current cms 2.8, how will webex integrate with it as webex is mainly a cloud offering.

the client is talking about a target audience of around 350 user connections in a big event over different locations. webex being cloud based does it then mean, clients cms will not be used & it will only be pure webex?
