Hi,

as we are planning to update more than 1000 IR1101 Routers via Prime Infrastructure, we built up additional Image Management Servers for file distribution to speed up the distribution process.

The default workflow via GUI selects for all devices the first configured Image Destribution Server. If we want to share the load over all servers we need to manualle configure the image ditribution server für each device. This is not an option for mare than 1000 devices.

Now the idea to start the distribution job via API-call but there is nothing to find in the API-documentation related to device updates.

Is there really no option to handle device updates via Rest-API?

Is it possible to configure Prime that all configured Image Distribution Servers are used for distribution per default?

Best regards

Hello @christian.heussen,

There is a lot of helpful, information on the Prime-Infrastructure page on DevNet at https://developer.cisco.com/site/prime-infrastructure/

The tutorial is especially useful: https://developer.cisco.com/site/prime-infrastructure/documents/api-reference/tutorial/v4/@_docs/

Hi @christian.heussen,

Have you checked in Cisco Code Exchange yet? Even if someone hasn't made exactly what you need, you can get some good ideas to push you in the right direction.

https://developer.cisco.com/codeexchange/explore/#search=%22prime%22

I hope this helps!
