Merging 3 users into 1

These 3 usernames are actually the same user; only with different accounts for different applications. Two questions:
(1) - Is there a way to prevent this from happening (and how)?
(2) - Is there a way to merge these into one username (and how)?

Hi Will,

Yes, you can use Username Aliases to allow for multiple login names for a single user.

The Username Aliases Migration Guide explains the cleanup process for an environment that already has multiple usernames for a single employee:

Identify the primary username format to be used going forward. (typically sAMAccountName)
Delete secondary usernames in Duo that will soon become aliases to the primary username.
Add secondary usernames in Duo as aliases to primary usernames.

There are, of course, caveats to each of the above steps based on how you’ve chosen to import or add users to Duo. Please check out the full guide, and feel free to follow up here with additional questions!

I will give this a try in the coming weekend - but only after completing the MS-AD integration by creating custom elements for these aliasses.
