topic Correct my lighting does not turn off in Webex Meetings and Webex App

I was presented with a pop-up when I joined a WebEx meeting yesterday. It said it detected that my lighting was low and asked if I wanted WebEx to correct my lighting. I chose yes, and a bright ring of light appeared around the edges of my screen. It's way too bright, and I ended up having to manually adjust the lighting on my screen, but the ring of light is still there any time the lighting is low and it's really annoying. I tried unchecking "Correct my lighting" in the WebEx Video options, but the ring of light is still here. How do I get rid of this ring of light?

Hi. I am a Cisco Employee, and I am facing the same issue. Is your issue resolved?

As a Cisco Employee, you may get a better response from your Cisco IT people, or the BU, rather than from posting here in a Community supported forum where most of the people responding are Customers or Cisco Partners.

You also don't mention which version of the client you're running, nor what platform (Mac/Windows/Linux/iOS/Android/etc) you're on - so it's harder to provide any more targetted information.

Please also note that "Webex" is spelt with a lower case "e". It hasn't been spelt as "WebEx" since around 2020.

Hi arraj2 ,

Yes, I figured it out. It seems to be a Mac video feature. So, when you start video in WebEx, a little camera icon appears in the menu bar (upper right corner on a Mac). When you click on that camera icon, it will drop down a menu of camera options. One of those options is “Edge light”, and it turns out that was what was turned on. Once I toggled it off, the “ring light” around the screen disappeared.
