Ability to message participants in Waiting Room

Greetings Webex gods,

Thank you for all you do to maintain your product up to date. I am a new user, required to transition over due to security concerns with other products we were using. Once of the features that one of the other products had was the ability to have all participants start in a waiting room. I see that you have that ability as well, but only in the Personal Room. Many in our organization would love to see this option in scheduled meetings as well. I see there is thread for that so I will not continue.

My other issue with the waiting room is that I cannot message the participants in the waiting room like I could in the other program. I liked this feature because I was able to let those waiting know that I was still busy with one customer and would get to them as soon as possible. Now all I am seeing is the loss of customers because I am unable to communicate with them as they wait.

Could you please add the ability to send a message to participants in the waiting room? I appreciate your assistance with this.

You can’t message but one workaround which isn’t ideal is when you see folks in the lobby bring them into the meeting and let then know you are running late and then move them back into the lobby and finish up the current session. Again not perfect but workaround for now.

It is a workaround, but a bit time-consuming. I'd rather see the option to message the lobby become available since it's not an impossibility. Seen it in other virtual conferencing programs.

My apologies. I am new to the platform and the community so was not aware of a specific location to place my request. As long as someone at Webex fixes the issue you can place it wherever you wish.

Just to be clear, you are the one that needs to create the request at the site I mentioned, and then it will be evaluated along with all the other requests.

@jmmorale Lobby experience for Meetings is on the roadmap for later this year, but definitely submit the feature request for being able to message those in the lobby - that's a nice feature and I'm not sure if that's part of the planned feature for lobby in Meetings. Thanks!

Welcome to Webex! We're happy to have you.

Currently, feature requests are located behind the "Share a product idea" on the top right of this page. If you wish to submit messaging participants in the waiting room it will have to be done in that portal. As you will see, there are many requests there. Once you do so, I recommend commenting back on this post with the link to the specific request. If another user sees this, they can comment and vote on the request!

I can't find this button, but I have an idea concerning the lobby, too. Make the sound for someone appearing in the lobby configurable just like the entry and exit sounds.
