Hello!

I was wondering, is it possible to disable a lobby during a meeting?

Some clients would like to start the webex meeting before the attendees arrive without letting them in. But then I would need to disable the lobby at one particular time to let everybody in.

Anyone could help?

Thank you in advance,

Jennifer

Welcome to the Webex Community! Thanks for posting your question here, we are glad to have you join us.

Not sure if this answers your question, but when you schedule/edit a Meeting on the browser, you should have the options below. So, you should be able to deselect the option of Guests wait in the lobby until the host admits them.

Let me know if this was what you are looking for.

Hi, @ramamohan . You can find this when you schedule via the web https://sitename.webex.com. Go to Schedule > Meetings > Show Advanced Options > Scheduling Options and you'll see the settings. I would suggest also that you can then save your preferred settings as a template (very bottom of options). Once you save as a template, you can set the default template under Preferences > Scheduling and look under default templates, where you can click the ellipses (...) and set a default. Hope this helps!!

I have the same issue as the OP and your response isn't quite what we're looking for.
If I schedule meetings with the waiting room on (in order to allow people in at a time of my choice when starting), I then want to disable the waiting room WHEN THE MEETING IS RUNNING. so that subsequently, particpants can come straight in.

I understand that it is a setting when scheduling meetings, but we'd like to toggle it as the meeting is in progress. Can you help?

Same question here. I can schedule a meeting with the Lobby turned on. And I know where the advanced scheduling options are to turn off the lobby. But, in a meeting that has started, I want to turn off the lobby once the meeting begins. Say I have a 1:00 p.m. meeting, I will want to send everyone to the lobby who arrives before 1:00 p.m. Then admit everyone at 1:00 p.m. Then I never want to see the lobby again, and have everyone from that point to go directly into the meeting.

Is this supposed to be done on the scheduling page? I would think there would be an option somewhere in the WebEx application. And not going back into the scheduler.

I believe the closest you can get today is to schedule a meeting without lobby ("guests can join meeting"), schedule\start the meeting early, and lock it (from within the running) until actual start time. This will drop all people joining into the lobby. Unlock when you are ready for this behavior to drop.

Still requires that the host spin up the meeting early however - which is still probably not quite what you are hoping for either - sorry.

If it's a scheduled meeting you can unlock it from the menu bar or using the ellipses on the bottom control bar. If it's a meeting in your personal room, there is no way for users to bypass the lobby without admitting them manually unfortunately.

This topic has got too long and convoluted.

It would be totally unnecessary if there were better options for the lobby, and I urge you to vote for my suggestion to Allow hosts to control the lobby options during a meeting.

But in the meantime, I've also written some tips that may save you tears when setting up your Webex Meetings. This blog was inspired by this very post.
