alternative video source in "Camera & Microphone" menu

Why is it only possible to choose another source than the integrated webcam when a session has already started ?

In the dropdown menu, the presence of a NDI source for replacing the webcam is marked but the NDI source stays black, although my NDI Video Monitor can "see" the NDI source.

Is there a way to make this video & audio source selection while offline ( with the webex meeting app ) ?

Is there a provision to alternatively use a Blackmagic Design capture card as a source ?

Skype and Zoom have all these capacities.

We are working exclusively on macOS, we are used to user-friendlyness.

Full disclosure ... I was forced by a client to use WebEx Meetings, I don't find any of the refinements I'm getting on other platforms.

Is there anyone here who could kindly brief me on this topic ?

Support for third party software based cameras is generally available, but not sure on how well supported they are as it may differ.

As for setting the camera, if you go into the Webex Meetings app, Preferences, you can go to meeting join options and set your default camera and mic/speaker settings.
