Hi,

I configured 130+ devices (9800 series) on control hub with MAC addresses, i would like to plug the phone and automatically upgrade and register on control hub using MAC address.

I have tried the cloud upgrader using DHCP option 160 , but when phone upgraded only with activation code can register, there is other way to set a TFTP server and upgrade the phones?

Hello @Michalis Papasavva,

The 9800 phones are different from the 7800s/8800s in the sense that they are running PhoneOS. If they are brand new, you will just need to create them in Control Hub and upon first boot, they will register. These phones will always check Webex first (after a factory reset) and then try to register to a Call Manager if it cant register to Webex.

If these are already online and registered to Call Manager, they will need to be factory reset after adding the device into Control Hub. With the latest device pack for Call Manager, there is an option from the device page to trigger the factory reset so you don't need to do it while physically in front of the phone.

@Michalis Papasavva

Ah. Once they are on Control Hub and online, Webex will automatically manage the firmware upgrades for you as they get released. The only configuration piece you can do is set the Upgrade Channel value in the configuration. There are three options here:

Stable - As releases become available, they will be applied.
Stable_Delay - This will always be one minor version behind Stable. As of today, stable is running 3.5 and stable_delay is 3.4. Once Stable is updated to 3.6, stable_delay will then be 3.5.
Preview - One version ahead of stable. (Beta channel)
