How to remove Webex extension from Safari ?

I am using Mac OS 26.1

I have tried uninstall the Webex App, I have tried uninstall the Webex extension and I have deleted the files in Finder. But the webex app still keeps appearing when ever i try call using Safari.

I have contacted Apple Support and they redirected me Webex Support after a lengthly trouble shooting.

Can anyone help me resolve this problem ?

You are not alone bro — Webex leaves behind components on macOS that keep the extension active even after uninstalling the app. To fully remove it from Safari on macOS 14/15/16+, try the steps below:

1. Remove the Webex plugins manually
Open Finder and delete these folders if they exist:

~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ ~/Library/Application Support/WebEx/ ~/Library/Application Support/Cisco/ ~/Library/Caches/WebEx/ ~/Library/Caches/Cisco/ ~/Library/Preferences/com.cisco.webexmeetingsapp.plist /System/Library/Extensions/WebEx* /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/WebEx64.plugin

(Use Go → Go to Folder and paste each path.)

2. Remove Webex system extensions
Open Terminal and run:

sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/Cisco sudo rm -rf /Library/LaunchAgents/com.cisco.* sudo rm -rf /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.cisco.*

Restart your Mac afterward.

3. Disable or Remove from Safari Extensions
Safari → Settings → Extensions
If Webex still appears, toggle it off, then quit Safari and restart.

4. Check Call Provider settings
macOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Extensions → Call Provider
Turn Webex off if it's listed.

After doing all steps, restart the Mac once more.

This should finally stop Safari from auto-triggering Webex during calls. If it persists, resetting Safari can help too:

Safari → Settings → Advanced → "Reset Safari" (macOS Sequoia 15+ only)
