Is is always this exact same scenario, that causes this issue occasionally?
I ask because you mentioned that the user you enter as <email_addr> is the user who started the meeting, and therefore the host. Or does this also sometimes happen with participants in that meeting, that are not the host? Just trying to narrow it down.

In any case, it is something that would be best analysed through a ticket. You can reach out to devsupport@webex.com with these details so the team can analyse the issue and provide feedback. You should also provide trackingIds along with the full API requests you make. You can get the trackingId in the response Headers. We can check logs with them then.

In a webex embedded app, that also uses API integration, I'm using GET /v1/meetings to get a list of meetings for the current user. Usually the result is correct, containing information about the current meeting. But sometimes the result is just an empty list even though the user is really a participant in a meeting in their own personal room.

The request is to /v1/meetings?meetingType=meeting&state=inProgress&participantEmail=<email_addr>

<email_addr> is the email address of the user that started the webex meeting, in that user's own personal room. This is also the same user that granted access to use the webex API. The response to /v1/people/me has the correct user's information, so I know the API access token is for the correct user.

This problem has happened a few times, with different users, but I don't have steps to reproduce it. It just seems like it randomly fails sometimes.

Could this be a problem on the Webex API server side? How can I troubleshoot further?

I was disappointed that non-host (or non organizer?) participants often (always?) couldn't get any information about the meeting they are in. But I've sort of accepted it for now, and am focusing on getting the organizer/host to work reliably.

Thanks for the suggestion about trackingId. I will look for that in the response headers and add it to my log information. I have opened a support ticket.
