Jabber ID- email address with CUCM 9.1.2

Hi everyone,

I have a CUCM 9.1.2 cluster and I would like to make the Jabber ID of users the same as their email address. It seems that the JID defaults to 'userid@domain' (think default is sAMAccountName@domain or userid@domain).

So, for example, if I have user 'bob arthurs', I would like to make his JID 'bob.arthurs@example.com' rather than 'barthurs@example.com'.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can ensure that the JID of all users is <email address>@domain?

P.S. clients are running Jabber 10.6.

You would need to upgrade IM

You would need to upgrade IM&P to 10.5(2) to get that, right now your only option is to use the JID: userID@domain.com

You can certainly sync userID to email, but you end up with the JID as john.doe@company.com@company.com

You would need to upgrade and use the Directory URI (synced to your email) to do that

All the clients would need to be on 10.6 latest release for this to work.

As Jaime said you need to upgrade IM&P to 10.5 to use the directory uri. Here's a document to configure the IM address using directory uri and may be helpful after your upgrade
