Jabber for Windows, Login issue

Hello,

I’m trying to run Jabber for Windows, with CUCM 10.5.

According to Cisco documentation, Jabber requests the following DNS SRV records.

_cisco-uds >> CUCM
_cuplogin >> CUP
_collab-edge >>
None of the SRV records

For the time being I have not configured DNS records. I need to login using the last one (none of the SRV records) later I will configure DNS.

As per my understanding my authenticator in this case is CUCM, so I added the IP address of my publisher under advanced configuration for Jabber. But when I try to log in, I get the following error:

Cannot communicate with the server.

If I change the authenticator to IM&Presence, the error will be:

Your username or password is not correct.

Any help please?

And how are your servers

Under Diagnostics>> System Troubleshooter >>Cisco Jabber Troubleshooter:

Test Description:

Verify whether Cisco Jabber users have been assigned (to a Presence Redundancy Group)

Problem:

Users must be assigned to a Presence Redundancy Group in order for presence to work properly for those users.

Solution:

Please assign these users using the Topology User Assignment page

but I follwoed the link and I did not find where.

Troubleshooter asked me to go to:

Please assign these users using the Topology User Assignment page

But it should be from;

User Management > Assign Presence User
