Hey Chris,

Currently there is no straight forward option in Cisco Jabber for Windows to clear conversation history.

This feature is targeted for future Jabber release.

I tested in lab that unlike CUPC where for each contact you'd have a transcript file and so you can delete IM History per contact as well, however, in Cisco Jabber for Windows, a single DB file is created in which combines ALL IM history for every contact.

When I delete the file and restart Jabber, all my IM's are cleared for every contact. So for now, till this feature is released, you can do the following:

1) Exit Cisco Jabber for Windows

2) Delete the file "userid@domain.db" from the following location

For XP:

     C:\Documents and Settings\<USERID>\Local Settings\Application Data\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\History</USERID>

For Win 7:

C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\History</USER>

3) Restart Jabber and now IM's would have been cleared.

Let me know if you have any issues.

Regards,

Jasmeet

I have installed Cisco Jabber on a few select clients to test it out before rolling it out to all our users. One issue we have ran in to is the "presence" if you change it to a new one you type there is no way to delete it. Highlighting it and right clicking or hitting the delete key does not erase it.

Does anyone know where to go in order to delete? Also as a side note where would it be saved on the local machine as well as where does the "buddy list" get saved on the local machine?

The custom status messages are sticky in 9.01, you cannot delete one. There is a hard limit on the number of custom status you can have; 3 custom status per color icon (green, yellow, red). For example, if you update a custom status to "out to lunch", then "on the patio", then "in bob's office", and then "in the break room"; the first "out to lunch" custom status message will no longer be available. Which makes it kind of nice not to have to worry about manually managing all your custom status messages.

The contact list association is stored on the presence server (WebEx/CUPS), which allows the user to authenticate from multiple devices yet still retain their contact list.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to clear conversation history? In CUPC you could just select previous IM's or call history and hit the delete key to clear it out. I do not see that option with Cisco Jabber.
