BE6000H M4 (UCS C220 M4S) has the following:

Dual E5-2630 v3 (8-core, 2.4 GHz)

48 GB RAM

VMware + UC apps boot from DAS (one RAID5 volume of 8x 300GB 10K SFF disks)

Ethernet ports on motherboard + 3rd-party NIC

Available to VMs:

16 total physical cores ("Restricted UC Performance" CPU type)

44 GB physical RAM

2.1 TB disk space

1x 1GbE for CIMC, 2x 1GbE for LOM, 4x 1GbE for NIC

Per CWMS 2.8 Planning Guide, for 50 user system with IRP and vCenter on the same host you need:

12 CPU cores - GOOD

40GB RAM - GOOD

NICs - GOOD

2 for the Admin virtual machine, including 1 if NIC teaming is used for redundancy

2 for IRP virtual machine, including 1 if NIC teaming is used for redundancy

1 for vCenter

1 recommended for ESXi management network

HDD: 1.5 TB; minimum of 7,200 RPM - GOOD

Based on this, this host should support CWMS 2.8 50 user system with IRP and vCenter co-residing on it.

Still, no other co-residency is supported.

Hello All,

I am sizing a deployment for a customer who has 2x BE6000H M4. when we add CWMS (50 User) to one of the BE6000H. We're no longer able to add anything else with it, leaving 8 cores and around 20 gigs of ram empty which is not logical nor acceptable to be honest.

So I am here to ask is there anything excluding the UC apps(they dont co-reside) like anything that can co-reside with the CWMS.

CWMS is very resource intense application as it uses a lot of CPU and RAM power to mix and process audio and video in real time. Hence, it doesn't support co-residency or sharing resources with any other application. For 50 user system, depending on the server used, you can put CWMS Admin VM, CWMS IRP VM, and vCenter appliance on the same host. That is it. No other type of VM is supported by CWMS to be on the same ESXi host.

I would suggest referencing the CWMS planning guide for the details.

Also, I don't know if BE6000H M4 is listed as supported hardware for CWMS (make sure all CPU/RAM/NIC/HDD requirements are matching what is listed in the CWMS Planning Guide). In https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/unified-communications/business-edition-6000/data_sheet_c78-717454.pdf I don't see CWMS listed as supported either.

I hope this helps.
