Hello,

I have a customer that is excited by the announcement of an iOS app that will allow Show and Share to extend to iPhones and iPads. Is there any information that can be provided? Specifically what I'm after is the release date of the app and the release date for the new version of Show and Share that I presume would also be needed.

Hi Jason,

That is great news! The new version of Show and Share, release 5.3, includes the new mobile client. Target FCS for release 5.3 is early November. If there is any further information needed, please let me know.

Recommended upgrade path from v5.2.1? Should I upgrade to v5.2.3 or 5.2.2.1 now, as that is the recommended first step(s) to get to 5.3 or will there be a direct path from any 5.2.x version to 5.3?

The answer to the question below depends on the hardware the user has. If they are using UCS servers, they can do a fresh install to v5.3. If they are using MCS servers, then in order for them to get to 5.3, they must follow this upgrade path – 5.2.1--> 5.2.2 --> 5.2.3 --> 5.3.

Hopefully this will be the last time am bugging you. I got this from an e-mail from the customer, can you address? Thanks!

I’ve finally got the rights to download stuff again and now I don’t see certain things that I seem to recall seeing…

For example; under the DMM (Digital Media Manager), the latest release is 5.2.3, not 5.3. But if I go under All releases, I see a 5.3 and there is an upgrade to go from 5.2.3 to 5.3. This is odd but “acceptable” as I can download my “dmm523to53.iso” file for my upgrade.

Now if I go under SNS (Show and Share), the latest release is 5.3, but there isn’t an upgrade listed there. The two files in there are “add-ons” and not the “sns523to53.iso” file that I would expect.

Please note that I can’t use the DMM file to upgrade the SNS, but I need to upgrade DMM before I upgrade SNS and they should be the same version. At least this is what their Upgrade Guide is telling me…

Nancy escalated for me but I haven't gotten an answer on where the file is yet.

I am told it will be obtainable from the PUT tool but last I checked 5.3 wasn't there.

Sorry everyone for the delay. We were able to finally get the 5.3 upgrade images into PUT a couple days ago.

SNS-WKGP-53-U-K9 DMS Show and Share Workgroup V5.2-V5.3 Perptl SW Lic. Update

These are free upgrade with valid SAS contracts. Please unicast me at lustewar@cisco.com if you are having issues.

The DMM upgrade is available on CCO only because it contains highly requested bug fixes for digital signage.
