CUCM routing internal calls to external destination

Hi team!

Hope you can help us.

We have a customer that is asking to send/route all the calls (also internal calls betweeen extension) to an external SBC (because they want to record them using an external cloud recording service).

As far as we know the routing logic of the CUCM is going to send the call (from extension A to extension B) straight to the extension B because B´s dn is created inside the CUCM. We dont know if there is any one to send the call al least the media throught the SBC. So the goal is to send a call to an internal extension using a rote pattern that points to an external devide.

I believe this is just the call recording configuration. You can configure the line appearance to be recorded on supported devices using built in bridge, which will cause the device to create a second "Call" to the destination configured for call recording and stream the media there.

I have not touched gateway based (CUBE) recording or media forking but I would imagine that doesn't work if the call doesn't come through the gateway.

I agree with this solution over sending all calls out of cucm, just to send them back to cucm.

Hi Adam,

The thing is that we must route the call (towards the internal DN) to an outside non CISCO gateway which in turn sends the media to the cloud based caall recording solution. Not sure if with BiB will work.

The IPTSP is asking to route the call to their SBC which in turn will route the call back to CUCM and send a different stream to the call recording.

We dont have a CUBE. We only want to route the internal call externally.

Hide all patterns from all devices.
Create wild card ! pattern that they can see which routes call to SBC.
Have SBC route call back to CUCM
CUCM SIP trunk for SBC has CSS which can see all patterns
