Hi There,

A couple things:

When did this start happening for you? Did Jabber ever work properly before?

Which version of Jabber are you using, and on what operating system?

If you are confident it is not the insert key, can you please try resetting Jabber (warning this will erase your call history and chat history). To do this, sign out of Jabber and then hit the little gear icon selecting "File > Reset Jabber".

If #2 does not work, you could try uninstalling and re-installing jabber and trying again.

Can anyone advise how to stop overtyping/overwriting of text in Jabber Chat? This is specific to Jabber and not the computer in general.

Except that it is not. I am aware of the insert key and have assured that isn't the case. The issue doesn't occur in my email or typing word documents, only in Jabber.
