topic Jabber 14 - New Image / Screenshot behaviour in Collaboration Applications

After upgrading Jabber from Version 12.7 to 14, i noticed a change in Screenshot / Image behaviour.

In 12.7 when you send or receive a screenshot in the chat, you see the screenshot in the chat in its full size.

In 14 you see the screenshot like a thumbnail with a weird code (Screenshot attached) where you have to click on the image, then jabber asks you if you really want to open the file and then it opens in the external windows image viewer.

First i thought it might be the Setting EnableInlineImages but i did not set this in the config and per default it is "true" which means the image should be directly shown.

So how can i get back to the old behaviour?

EnableInlineImages
Applies to Cisco Jabber for desktop clients.
Set up inline images so that they are allowed or prevented from being displayed in the client without being downloaded first.
true (default)—The image is displayed in Jabber automatically.
false—File transfer is used where users must accept an image to see it.
Example: <EnableInlineImages>false</EnableInlineImages>

I'm not sure that you can. This may have been behavior that was introduced with the file/link safety feature that brought that prompt about.

I also see the thumbnail and UUID. The latter may be a bug.

I see this as well in latest releases of 14 that I have tried.

I found this bug:

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvx18749

Unfortunately it doesn't have much detail, nor does it appear to have made any progress based on the update time. You could try TAC to confirm you're hitting it, and get added to the associated cases.
