      <title>Unable to send attachment to an offline user (attachment icon is greyed out)</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Please help, sending messages to offline users no issue - messages were received after offline user logged in.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When online user trying to send an attachment to offline user, the attachment icon is greyed out. How to fix that?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The file type has nothing to do with the icon being greyed out. How could it be, the client software wouldn’t know what you intend to select after you press the icon? It’s greyed out because the receiver won’t be able to get the sent file. Java explained in previous replies to this post what would be the cause of this.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Thanks for your reply however in my case it was not that at all.&lt;BR /&gt;We all work from home now. Even if we are able to use Jabber without being on our internal network - for the "Attach" option in Jabber to work we both had to be on the our internal network via AOVPN. Once we did that and connected thru VPN we both could see and use the "paperclip option".&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Naeem&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;That is expected and is what the OP and Java discussed in the thread. When you connect via MRA, aka when you’re outside of your corporate network the send file option would not be available if you use the default that is P2P. For file transfer to work in this situation you would need use MFA. Once you connect via VPN it will work as if you where connected to the corporate network, then P2P file transfer works. It’s important to understand that Jabber has two different connection modes.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
