Yes, CDP and/or LLDP is used to negotiate power between AP and switch.

Hello,

I have a Cisco 9200 where is connected my Cisco Access Point 3800 Series.

The Access point is attached normally to the controller Cisco 5520 but the SSIDs are not shown arroudn the Access Point. I think that it is due to the fact that the switch give only 15w (Medium Power) to the access point instead of 30w (Full Power).

What can i do to force it to 30w and why the switch is not given it automaticly?

Power problem usually disable radios, if you see the radio the radios up, maybe it is not power.

The way AP and switch negociate the power is using CDP and or LLDP.

Hello,

you mean that CDP acts on the process of Power Inline? I disabled the CDP of the access point.

i enabled it and i think that it is good now.
