Hi

We are e-wasting close to 2000 devices due to device age. We have over 150 networks that our devices are in. We have our technicians removing all tags from the devices and moving them to a Global devices to E-Waste network.

Is there a way to remove these devices in bulk from ADE? I have created a spreadsheet from the Global devices network, so I have all of the serial numbers.

Is there an easy way to use that to remove these devices from ADE so that I can go into Apple School Manager and bulk remove them there?

Thank you

Brian

If you go into ASM you just need to go to the devices tab on the left side and then in the search paste in the serial numbers which will generate a list. Once you have that list you can select all devices and then you get the management for those devices.

If you are e-wasting them I would assume you'd want to Release from Organization which will remove them from ADE in Meraki the next time you update it. You want to make the changes in ASM as those will be pushed into Meraki.

You can also "disown" them directly from SM:

Go to Systems Manager > ADE

Select the devices, and click Disown:

https://support.apple.com/guide/apple-business-manager/release-devices-axmec4d28461/web

Interesting, I see that's part of the new version of that screen. I wasn't seeing it on the old version.

Guess I need to play around with the new version of SM, I just know there was quite a lot of functionality that was missing on the new version of SM which is why I had been using the old version. Oh yeah, that's right there's no previous or next buttons on the new version which really, really should be there.
