Yes, check your Policy -> Advanced Settings -> Client User Interface and you'll see a check box for "Start Client User Interface." Uncheck it and the GUIs won't start at startup.

BEWARE!!! I did that to my test group of 6 W2K16 servers and now I have NO GUI AT ALL. Yes, I have a TAC case open and am waiting.... and when I say I have NO GUI AT ALL, I mean, I can't even manually run it from the Start Menu. When I do, I get an error message about AnyConnect GUI is already running. Not a fan of the convergence of VPN and A/V.

Dear Cisco,

We've upgraded a test fleet of Windows devices to Cisco Secure Endpoint 8.0.1 (from version 7.5.5). We noticed on every device that after the upgrade the GUI is opened automatically.

Is there a way to prevent the GUI from opening? All prior updates of Cisco Secure Endpoint / AMP were completely silent outside of the notifications.

Kind regards.

Hi @MichelleMacEnroe36525

As you have mentioned already, unchecking that box will prevent the client interface from starti g completely.

It’s probably something unintentionally from Cisco’s side. Hopefully they can fix it in a future update.
