Cannot find acsbackup_instance.log in the backup file

hi,

I had ACS 5.2 ( Evalution License ) setup installed on VMware with patch 11 when I try to restore earlier backup of ACS gives me error "Cannot find acsbackup_instance.log in the backup file"

I am using Filezilla FTP sever for backup transfer.

Hi Avi,

Could you please share the name of the backup file. Also if there is any special character in the name, Please remove it and then try to restore the backup.

Minakshi,

It is possible the backup file is corrupted?

Can we view the contents of the backup file? I could not open it with whatever archiving tool.

The metnioned file must be in

/opt/CSCOacs/logs/acsbackup_instance.log

If we can open the backup file and view the hierarchy inside we would possible be able to see if the file is really available or not. It is possible the bakcup is corrupted and the file is really missing. right?

I try with 3 to 4 backup files to restore but same error i am getting,

If it is possible that all files gets corrupted?.

I tried with TFTP option also but same error i am getting.

That is strange!! Just make sure you are using the TFTP and not the DESK in the repository. It looks to me that you are trying to restore from the DESK and not the TFTP and it could not find the backup file int he DESK.

If you double check the repository and you are 100% sure that the TFTP is being used then I would recommend to open a TAC case and feedback us about what the issue was if the TAC discovered the root cause of this.

btw, what you see if you apply this command on CLI:

show backup history
