Hi,

We upgraded a CSACS-1121 from ACS 5.2 to ACS 5.4 with CLI

Application upgrade ACS_5.4.0.46.0a.tar.gz FTP

After ACS reboot, services never start... After 15 hours, we always get same message:

ACS/admin# show application status acs

Application initializing...

Status is not yet available.

Please check again in a minute.

We installed patch 5-4-0-46-2.tar.gpg but we got same issue for 2 hours ...

What could I do?

Thanks,

Patrick

1.] Did you apply the latest patch for ACS 5.2 before proceeding the upgrade?

2.] On the CLI, did we get the message:

The system is going down for reboot NOW!

Application upgrade successful

You can only perform an application upgrade bundle, on either a Cisco appliance or a virtual machine, if the disk size is greater than or equal to 500 GB.

We have the same problem on one of our ACS Servers when upgrading from ACS 5.3.0.40-9 to ACS 5.4.

We have two ACS Appliances: one update worked just fine, the other is hanging with

"Application initializing..

Status is not yet available

Please check again in a minute"

An this lasted for hours (2 hours+)

After two hours, we checked the console:

"

ipt_connlimit: Oops: invalid ct state?

ipt_connlimit: Oops: invalid ct state?

ipt_connlimit: Oops: invalid ct state?

"

We desided to do it the rough way: Reboot the Appliance by cutting the power.

After the reboot, the console displayed "Application upgrade success"

And all processes was up and running just after 10 minutes.

After applying the latest patch, the appliance now runs as smooth as ever with the new release.

Conclution: It looks like the update from 5.2-> 5.4 and 5.3 -> 5.4 is a bit "shaky".

Jarle
