I am currently working on implementing ACS 5.3. while i was configurating access policy for the default device admin i realized that it is using PAP as its authentication method. i have tried to change it to chap or mschap but the log show authenication failed due to PAP is not allowed. my question is, is there are anyway to use another other authenication method other PAP? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

What type of authentication are you doing? If you're doing telnet/ssh to network devices then it cannot be changed. It only works with PAP.

Jatin is right. After numinous research, pap is the only choice that is supported communication between ios device.
