Yes, you can follow the process in this link to have them converted to 2.4+ medium licenses.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/identity-services-engine-24/213171-ise-2-4-upgrade-alarms-fewer-vm-license.html

If you are planning to upgrade to Release 2.4, contact ise-vm-license@cisco.com with sales order numbers that include VM purchase to procure one medium VM license for each VM previously purchased. You should also include your CCOID along with the sales order number. Alias is only for previously purchased customers who wish to upgrade to 2.4 and need PAKs.

This is only the case if you bought traditional licenses, these are end of sale so all new licenses purchased are ready to install when you receive the pak.

Good day all,

I'm trying to understand the cisco ISE bundles. I want to order the virtual appliances and using the ordering guide.

Im seeing the following:

R-ISE-VM-K9= Cisco ISE virtual machine image (eDelivery) Virtual Appliances are Right-to-Use (no PAK)

R-ISE-5VM-K9= Cisco ISE 5-bundle VM (eDelivery) Virtual Appliances are Right-to-Use (no PAK)

R-ISE-10VM-K9= Cisco ISE 10-bundle VM (eDelivery) Virtual Appliances are Right-to-Use (no PAK)

Just want to know what the bundles include

You get right to use for 1, 5

You get right to use for 1, 5 or 10 VMs respectively.

You get no licenses for ISE software itself. for that you need to addd something like Base, Plus or Apex licenses (and Device Admin for TACACS). You can also opt for something like the ISE Express license bundle for up to 150 endpoints or Mobility for Wireless and VPN endpoints only.

Oh ok i understand.

So lets say you order the 5VM bundle, then its basically you saying that you have the licenses to install and use 5 ISE servers

If you have these RTU, can you use them for newer version of ISE software and deploy on VM environment? is a conversion required to use let say ISE 2.4 VM?
