ISE Plus and APEX licenses on version 1.2?

Hello,

A client has ISE1.2 and the licenses will be expired next week. They are not ready to upgrade v1.2 to the v2.1 before the license expiration. The question is, can the new Plus and APEX license be applied on ISE v1.2?

Does this mean that the 'new' Plus license (with pxGrid, internal CA, etc) can be installed on ISE 1.2 even though this ISE version doesn't have all the features that the license has?

I know that Plus license was introduced with ISE 1.2, but I'm just wondering if from this version's perspective is the same thing.

Thanks,

Hi Octavian,

Hi Octavian,

License also gets upgrade during the actual upgrade of ISE from 1.2 to 1.3.

However, if you use it in ISE1.2, it will not serve the purpose of Internal CA.

Licensing got changed from ISE 1.3. They break the Advanced into plus and Apex.

Hi Gagan,

Hi Gagan,

I know about the license persistence in case of the upgrade and about the new licensing model.

My question is simple as that: Is the new ISE Plus license compatible with 1.2?

Can it be installed on top of ISE 1.2? Did you installed a 'new' ISE Plus license on ISE 1.2?

Thanks,

I have never tried that. However, as per my understanding, it shouldn't work until and unless, it gets upgraded or installed on fresh installed ISE.
